Skip the headaches when trying to make ends meet. Here's a simple tongue-in-cheek solution.
Making Cents of Your Finances When juggling your bills, do not jiggle Or there will be no room to wiggle You are not a cash cow, So if you can’t pay now, Just wink as you tell them, “Don’t niggle” Remember to borrow from Peter When you need some coal for your heater Then you can pay Paul, who’s not patient at all, And every day life will be sweeter Rob Peter to pay Paul: To take from one merely to give to another; to discharge one debt by incurring another. That first line reminded me of when one was considered a rich man if one could jingle coins in his pocket. Not anymore. It takes serious folding money and stocks and bonds these days to be considered rich. Really rich men carry no money at all. Not even an American Express card. They just say, "charge it."

If you are a cash cow, hangers on are likely to try to milk you dry.

Spent my whole life mastering the fine art of robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Your poem certainly struck a chord with me! ;-)

Lovely handwriting (font). I heard on the radio just this afternoon, they were discussing the wisdom of Ben Franklin...a penny saved is a penny earned, etc. they further said the United States ranked #14 among nations in percentage of income that is saved. Even Mexico ranks higher than we do. They also talked about the youth of today only living for the moment, etc. Anyway, the picture they painted was quite dismal. Nice work, Connie, as always.
