A New Crime Fighter:
Epiphany
I was uhm...between jobs
And my self-esteem was suffering
I needed to be useful for the community
Struck with an epiphany I decided crime fighting
One eye popped open when the wood pecker
pecked wood
Milly and Simon, my dogs, barked and I felt really good.
The sunlight was dull and rain-it certainly
would.
Today I would start my crime fighting for good.
My idea had thoroughly inspired me.
So after breakfast I started out in my PT Cruiser
Accompanied by my Lab and Beagle, I would
Fight whatever crime I could see.
I was ready to make my name as being a big bruiser
Cruising the clogged streets I slowly made my way.
Traffic at a stop I wasn’t able to fight crime my way.
The rain started-It was pouring down all around.
When I spied a woman bent over in a black hooded cape
kneeling on the ground.
I was hit with a sudden epiphany. This poor woman
Was in need of saving.
She’d probably been struck by a punk and left hurt and crying.
I parked my cruiser and rush to the woman’s side without ponder.
The nun surprised, hit me over the head with a pro-life poster.
A policeman grabbed me by the scruff of my neck.
Demanding to know what I would be doing next.
Just then Sister, in her black cape, and I recognized each other.
She told the officer to let me go for I would be no bother.
Sister sighed and rolled her eyes as a lump on my head did rise.
She let me know she wouldn’t be needing my help today which was wise.
She gave me her blessing and sent me on my way.
With a promise from me to be at Mass on Sunday.
Drenched, I walked back to my car and was licked by Milly.
As I drove away in my Cruiser I really felt silly.
I touched my aching head where Sister had landed her poster.
I was left with a big bruise and my own epiphany to ponder.
