The mythologies of many cultures include stories of a first couple, a man and woman who were the parents of the entire human race. In the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic religious traditions, these first parents were Adam and Eve.

The image of God fashioning Eve out of Adam's rib may have originated in an ancient legend from Mesopotamia. The Mesopotamian story probably influenced the Hebrew one, which became the basis for one biblical version of Eve's creation.

This finding was shown in the history channel a couple of days ago.

I've never seen such an unusual take on this story. Unfortunately, Eve's decision was ultimately the most offensive - hence the punishment of childbirth, PMS.... and did you know why men chase us women who were created from one of Adams Ribs? Well I was told us ladies got his good/best rib & he wanted it back ;)

This sounds very reasonable to me Elizabeth. I always thought God made man the way they are today and women the way men see them, therefore Adam would go along with whatever to get his own way and like SOME men today, they are't pleased with the outcome. Thank you forsharing a smile on my face.

An old old story it is but sin came into the world through Adam and Eve doing this and we must work all our days for the things we have now. Toil is necessary because of their sin, and days are not easily gotten through even, but through the grace of God and prayers we shall win out in the end. Another garden is promised at the end of our day, cicling around and around til the day comes again for a beautiful land to be ours to share in. just forever and ever too.
