Twas the Night Before Christmas

Of course the title and first two lines are not mine, but the rest of it is...

 

T’was the Night Before Christmas
               
T’was the night before Christmas
And all through the house
The mice were all dancing
And covered with louse
The stockings were tacked
On the wall with great flair
For the spirit of Christmas permeated the air
The baby gurgled as she pulled her sister’s hair
That her diaper was full no one seemed to care
Wiping sister’s tears and holding baby out of reach
“Revenge, revenge,” her sister screeched
Unfazed mama sighed, “oh my.”
Handed baby to daddy to figure out why
Leading sister to a soothing splash
During what is commonly known as a bath
Cheer finally prevailed
Until, “oh sh*t,” daddy yelled
Yes, it is Christmas
And the home was its usual mess
So special an occasion
Filled with such spirited sensations
Of hope and joy and snow so white
So to all of you have a great night

yes, we can glorify and prettify... but babies will continue to do what babies do best! Mind you, don't spose Jesus is too put out, being born where he was... Love the humour here, Liz. Families love to share their joys during this most Happy Season... and even more the "dirty" work! Have a most wonderful Christmas... night before, during and waay after, too. xx
