Just the way it happens sometimes...

Old One Eyed Lost a contact late one night I wondered what I would do for sight One eyed I’ve spent the last two weeks Close one eye for distance Forget the other it’s too weak Done a few too many curb checks As I’ve gone about my way That’s the way it goes for me every day Going through life half blind I never know what I will find

It would be so hard to have this problem. I sympathize with you. My friend Lucy has lost her central vision, but she is still facing life with gusto and praising God.
This is a great metaphor for life, as some have mentioned below.

That's the problem nowadays
Most of us are half blind
To what's really going on
In life in this world!

There is a saying in China to reflect a person who no longer wants to care about anyone ir anything that is happening to the world around - Living life with one eye closed.

Interesting read, but I know it sucks when that happens.

Cute. Reminds me of the time I bought contact lenses back in the dark ages. I was in college and my father called me "moneybags" for making such an outrageous purchase. My eyes have always been quite dry. The first time I lost my contact was in a darkened theater. However, I looked down and it was on my sweater in the flickering light. The second time I lost my contact was in a car at night when it was below zero outside and the car seats were covered with hard, cold, plastic. I believe we found it shortly after I lost it in that dark car. The third time that I remember was just after eating and discovering that I could not see out of one eye. We searched the house, but I think I ate it. I think the first one was replaced for free, after that I had to pay.

As someone almost blind, it's the things i can't find, that bothers my mind. I can relate.

I think most of us can say the same!

A very interesting perspective Elizabeth. It seems like it's been quite some time since I have seen you post, but maybe I am just out of the loop. I enjoyed this. It is humorous on the surface, but really quite profound...

I hope you are doing okay. And though I don't know what it is to be physically blind, I have walked through some very dark valleys of late. Jesus is all the light we will ever need.
God bless.

As bad as it is now, Elizabeth, it could be worse. Blindness. It has always been a fear of mine.
