O’ Falling Fall drifting down... There goes another one... O’ Crisp Fall breeze Last kiss these leaves Let this moment last...
Colors gold on crimson reds Another one, just fell on my head... O’ Cool Fall frost Change in seasons hue Falling stalks of a harvest moon Glory bows where the maize did loom
Pumpkins light on a Hallow night I’ll catch this one, if I might... O’ Cold Fall freezing Petrify my chilling wonders Fall Ageless of a Autumn’s whither Suspicions of a Fall Forever!
Oooooh, if only it were one delicate leaf that fell on my head!
I lived in a farm cottage right next to a forest and a garden with large trees. Part of my rent was to clear the leaves in the farmyard each autumn. I dreaded the sight that greeted me each Saturday when I went next door - the length of the lane was hidden by a mass of fallen leaves to be bagged off. They seemed to fall forever.
On the other hand, when we jumped in the car and went for a drive through the Trossachs (in Scotland) my sentiments echoed the ponderings of your poem. Seeing the golden leaves gently falling as we drove through tree arched stretches was like driving through a drizzle of falling leaves. Nice.
