Dancing Leaf
I was sitting on my deck outside
Staring into an area of woods
When I spotted a lone leaf
Dancing from a limb where a tree stood.
It was spinning and turning
In a rhythm all its own
Like a beautiful ballerina
On stage all alone.
Today I saw that same leaf
Still practicing for its debut
Swirling to the wind song
As if somehow it knew
That I was watching.

A lovely description to tell us that it is all there, for us,
to appreciate.

In "Dancing Leaf," you give life to this inanimate object waiting to makes its debut, something that more of us should do if we want to broaden our horizons and make life count for more than idle days of existence. Here you are telling God, "Yes, every part of your act of creation is spellbinding and awesome to view, if we would but look."
As a very senior old man, I loved "Dancing Leaf." So will my great-granddaughter"!
With love and respect,
