I'm sharing your memory, before and after Lady Bird, and I see the difference. I am amazed at how many bags of trash our volunteer groups here are able to pull from the grass in the ditches on clean-up days.....Jerry

SO right~! When she was a teenager, my daughter joked about Lady Bird's "shroobs and booshes." Drawl or no, she did us a great service by beating the drum for conservation. Keeping our surroundings clean and healthy~ Now you are contributing to the cause, and I for one appreciate it very much. Such an important cause ! Weighs on my mind to the point where I have begun work on a sci-fi story about a mother who carries her child back in time so she will see why Earth became uninhabitable. Its sad to see trash thrown from cars which litter our hightways. Where is Americas pride? How hard is it to dispose of an unwanted container by dropping it in a tarsh bin , or taking it home.....M

One day my hubby noticed trash spread along the road in our neighborhood. Seemed like some kids did some illegal drinking and then left the trash. Thankfully my hubby picked it up. We have that adopt a highway program in NH. I also like seeing the jailbirds picking up trash along the road. That's an excellent program. But you're right, wish it never happened in the first place!
