Poem Artwork

I sit by the lake,wondering
if I could become immersed
in the Moons rays if I swam in the
path  it made glinting across the water

I am always mesmerized
by this scene of moon over
water, and imagine all kinds of scenarios

My ipod is playing Leona Lewis
"Bleeding Love"which for some
reason seemed to make the
moonlit water look red to me

The power of imagination
is amazing, i even felt
wrapped in a romantic presence
,yet I am alone not really thinking
of anyone

A cool breeze has me
cuddling in my sweater,
glad I had taken it with me,
I wasn't ready to leave yet

Just a couple hours ago,hot
sun was glinting off the  emerald
green water, and  birds of all kinds
 chittering and flittering,in the
hundreds of pines and other trees
that circle magical  Lake Tahoe

Bushes and wildflowers were alive
 with butterflies and humming birds

Now an occasional fish breaking
water,or the hum of evening boaters
are the only sounds

Time to retire to my cabin, and say
good night on my last day here,as
I head home in the morning

Though I hate to leave, I am
renewed,  and feel that I can face
whatever lies ahead

well expressed touching verse Eileen, soon I'll be on vacation in my cabin in the wild blue yonder and I will hate to leave when my vacation ends, but I feel renewed to face what this crazy sane city offers, ;-)

I savored the beauty and tranquility of his art, Tahoe, 'till my soul was sated. God bless. Glad you are refreshed. A tranquilizing poem. I feel surrounded with soothing emotions after reading your wonderful poem. JMW

Lake Tahoe is one of those places that emits renewal so completely. Been there in all of the Seasons, and cannot resolve which is the best time. Think you needed and earned this get-away dear friend; you appear to have been re-newed!! Love the images in your words...and also the pic. Always wanted to walk that reflection, but know there is but One who can walk that path.
Blessings and Love and Appreciation ~~ Micke

I wonder where that moonlit road of water leads?...
Glad that your retreat to Lake Tahoe has left you feeling renewed...

You're moonstruck again Eileen, just can't leave you alone with that Gentleman, he gets you every time, whichever way, but this is a nice expose on him, and the lake too of course, but then the moon is relational to the ebbs and flows, and your mood, well this was written in a uplifting note, a beautiful memory to take home and remember when he is full in the sky. Oh, how I relate to this. I've had these same thoughts/feelings. One of my favorite places is Lake St. Catherine, Vermont where I have watched the moon dance on the water many, many nights and wanted to get lost in/immersed in its beautiful, shimmery reflection. Beautiful piece.

Eileen, first, the beauty you've captured in this writing is magnificent and I could see the "red" in the moonlit water. Second, I can sense through your words, a true renewal of your soul and mind. Third, I also could sense "your knowing" God provided the beauty you absorbed into your soul as you sat there in awe of the beauty He gave to us to enjoy. Excellent!

Lake Tahoe is one of God's precious gifts to us here in these United States. Anyone thinking of going to Europe for a vacation should first visit Lake Tahoe and you will never go to Europe again. Nothing can surpass it.

Good bio-page quote! And I know that feeling well coming off of vacation; convinced that you can handle anything life throws at you. Love the moments you shared in this - kinda like a poetic biography.

I know how you feel. Explaining in this poem made me yearn for a vacation too. I always do not like to come home either. The lake at nights must have been fabulous for you and a memory to treasure always. Glad you go away from it all. Safe journey home.
