I sit alone
Before
An uncurtained
Window,
Enjoying
The neighbor's
Many-colored
Christmas lights.
They outline his house
And parade down
Our communal fence;
They flash
And they twinkle,
Sparkling brilliantly
In the crisp, cold night,
And bring to mind
My childhood,
Now so long ago.
How I wish
I could string
My own lights,
Mayhap even
Festoon
This common house
In Griswald-esque
Abandon!
