i think i saw every mother on the planet, they all came into my restaurant to eat. the line went around the building (at least two times), people were having to wait to get a seat.
when they came in, each was given a carnation, some of the children wanted a flower, too. we let them have them, to prevent altercation, to say, we love you mom, and to say thank you.
they came in by the carload, they came in by truck, i thank the Lord they didn't come in by bus! we didn't run out of food, by sheer grace and luck, or they would have really raised a big old fuss!
i think i saw every mother on the planet, they all came into my restaurant to eat. the line went around the building (at least two times), thank God it's over--ask my poor aching feet!!
~~~HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY--it was an honor serving you!~~~
I agree with ED K below, and I have one other thing to say, while soaking you feet, soak you head, it couldn't hurt, LOL! What a wonderful humorous poem you have concocted here, Karla, I like seeing you do humor every now and then as it brings out a shine in you...Peace,Ed & Rufuz
Even though you have aching feet, Karla, you have a wondrous, loving heart. Wonderful write! Now, go soak those feet.
Karla, they really put you through the mill on Mothers Day. But I know you stayed the course with your Carnations and the mile high stacks of food you had to serve. Well, this is my special Mothers Day for you. Beloved heart of AD. Wish I were young; then you could be my Mother and we could celebrate the day together. Hugs and love Bill xoxo
LOL- I was one of those people today with my mom...and the carnations...I also worked all day at the bookstore and put up with throngs of people, so I can relate. This was great!
Sorry we were part of the crowd. this was great and gave me a good laugh at the end
rest those feet in a nice warm hot tub now and have a great week
This is brilliant and funny! Today is a LONG day for anyone in the service industry - one that can be trying at best. Thank YOU for making it such a memorable day with a smile and humor.
Doesn't it make you happy when you know you're the one who serves these wonderful children and their mothers?
I love this write very much, Karla!
Greetings.
Beautiful Poem Poet, Karla J. Dorman aka Aching feet.
I hope you have a well-rested wonderful evening, for You and Your delightful Sister, have earned IT and more! Thank You so much for sharing this with all of us. May You and Your Sister Poet, Karen Vidra aka The Texas Tornado, be served the best of everything this glorious world has to offer. Keep the faith! Excellent poem! I enjoyed tremendously!
This was a sweet mother's day poem. As one who has a 3 year-old who isn't at all happy today, I'm glad you were giving the flowers to the little ones. It's hard to remember why you're a mommy when your child throws a tantrum.
We love them anyways. :D Thanks for sharing.
