Severe weather rocked parts of Texas yesterday, but wanted to let you know Karen and I are safe. :-)

o, give me a home free from storm syndrome,
when tornadoes drop out of the sky,
they're no basements here, i cower in fear,
and i think that i'm going to die!

home, home on the plains!
where i think they're a tad bit insane,
no safe place to hide, i tremble inside,
*if there are, they are flooded with rain!*

the skies will be blue, then a storm moves through,
and they turn a lovely shade of green,
the sirens then wail, and my face gets pale,
and of stormphobics, i am the queen!

home, home on the plains,
where i think they're a tad bit insane,
no safe place to hide, i tremble inside,
*if there are, they are flooded with rain!*

i need a safe room to escape the doom,
i feel whenever a storm blows through,
but houses will fly when twisters pass by,
look at that video on the news!!!!

home, home on the plains,
where i think they're a tad bit insane,
no safe place to hide, i tremble inside,
*if there are, they are flooded with rain!*

if it's my turn to go, my turn to go,
i would rather not go in a storm,
i've got no voice, but if it were my choice,
i'd die in my sleep, all safe and warm!!!!

home, home on the plains,
where i think they're a tad bit insane,
no safe place to hide, i tremble inside,
*if they are, they are flooded with rain!*

This is very cute - I guess in this world there are really no safe places to live - most areas have something -volcanos - earth quakes - fires - tidal waves - good grief and what about pests, snakes and poisonous spiders!!!! Heavy traffic......so glad you are safe, comfortable and still dry.

(((Karla)))

This is absolutely hiLARious, considering it is about a subject that you and i are not so thrilled about...storms! Excellent and humorous slant to this poem; very well done! Keep the poems coming from your talented pen; I will read them and rate them!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin, Karen Lynn. :D

Glad we made it through the wild weather; but I still hates Texas...the ONLY good thing ABOUT texas is YOU!!

I can but only imagine this!..sounds scarey. Back in 87 when hurricanes hit England, I remember watching the back gate being ripped apart in front of my eyes with the strong winds, but luckily we didnt have to take cover. You brave thing you1 Thankgoodness you are both ok.....and dont stop writing....lol.

'Ad-a-girl, Karla! Go you! Keep on singing and we'll sing with you - loved this version of the Buffalo Song - I think it is much better than the original! Liverpool Supporters sing "When you walk through the storm, hold your head up high and don't be afraid of the dark...Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart and you'll never walk alone"... lots of truth in that for a football song!! But God promises to keep our hearts and minds at peace, too, as we trust Him in all storms in life - actual and metaphorical: easier said than done, sometimes, I know, but His Spirit is here to help us! God Bless...I'm told that under the kitchen table is best - so our Granny's of the WWII Blitz tell us anyway!! Love'ya, Kate xx

Karla, loved this poem and sang all the choruses. I know how you fill about storms, and I wish I could comfort you. I would hold you close till the storm passed by; then go change my pants with some that were dry. Not to brave here. I wish it was easier for you, I really do. Bill loves you hon. xx
