~~~FICTION~~~
I am fine, this just came to me when I heard of someone committing suicide.
Poem Artwork
Standing on the ragged
edge
of disaster looking
through
miles of clear blue sky
at
the ground far far away
I'm
afraid to jump afraid
to
live  Thirty stories is
all
that separates me from
death
on city streets below
The
wind toys with me it wants
me
to join it in the dance
It
pulls caresses cajoles
dares
me to step out in faith
free
from pain free from worry
no
more problems no more strife
no
more second chances  May
I
ask one final question?
Do
I have any lifelines
left
before my decision?
It is so sad when one gets to the point where the wind ask's them to come home and they say yes. Sad thing it is not the wind they are hearing :-( Great write!
Wonderful piece Karla, a difficult subject to write about I feel....... can only imagine what it must feel like, when you have more pain either physically or mentally, than you can cope with, that you feel living is for others. Finding a way to cope and carry on needs the help and support of others, some folk have noone.
Powerful poem, Karla, and intriguing analogy to the Millionaire.
Many of the severely depressed folks contemplating suicide could probably use a caring soul like you to give them that lifeline.
This is a heartbreaking poem dealing with a heartbreaking subject handled with great senistivity and care...I am glad to hear you are okay...
Mesmerizing poem, dealing with a horrible topic!
Well done Karla,glad it's only a poem. Suicide leaves
loved ones behind that have an awful time trying to cope
and find understand. It's a terrible thing to do!
Been there, almost done that, suicide that is, not jumping off a building and I realize this is not a funny subject, but it isnt the fall so much as the sudden stop that hurts...gotta laugh, or else I would have cried...Peace thru Life, Ed & Rufuz
(((Karla)))
Sobering, hardhitting write that captures the horror of what one goes through when they are thinking about suicide! Glad you and I are over those bad times now, and glad we never attempted it! Powerfully done! BRAVA!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin, Karen Lynn (who has been there, too, and know what it is like; glad God rescued us!). :( >tears <
