I wanted to write you a love poem, But the words refused to come out right. I tried to tell you how much I love you, Those words had already seen the light.
I wanted to write you a love poem, Something original, something fresh. All of the words I managed to find Just wouldn't congeal, just wouldn't mesh.
I wanted to write you a love poem, But I couldn't find the words that fit. Didn't want the say the same old thing, But writing's harder than I'll admit.
I wanted to write you a love poem, But THEN I managed to spill the ink. There are smudges all over the page. Y'know, as a Poet, I really stink!!
