In the middle of her poeting -
Because she might stab you with her pen
Or sic her pit Muse on you.

With something mundane or trivial -
Unless it's a real emergency
Or manuscript acceptance.

Never bother a Poet
With suggestions of she needs a break -
There are no vacations when one writes
And forget about days off.

Never bother a Poet
Unless you have a secret death wish -
I wouldn't do that if I were you...
That is asking for trouble.

Never bother a Poet
With an offer for outrageous sex -
It's been so long, she's forgotten how
And she's embarrassed by that.

Never bother a Poet
And do not think of cleaning her words -
She knows which meter and rhyme they're in -
God help you if they're misplaced.

Never bother a Poet
Who is under a lot of duress -
Don't push her over the edge of verse -
You'll regret it forever.

Never bother a Poet -
Never, EVER bother a Poet -
I did that once, and now look at me...
I whistle poems through my arse.
