Dear Poet: That's it. I cannot take it anymore! If things don't change, I'm going out the door! You want me to be at your beck and call, When I give you assignments, THEN you stall. You have an excuse every single time, HOW HARD CAN IT BE TO WRITE METER AND RHYME?? All you want to do is sit on your butt, Drinking beer ... no wonder you've got a gut! And then you tell me that you've lost your pen. Good God. When are you going to change?? WHEN???? I don't know how many pens I've replaced, YOU'D FIND THEM IF YOU'D JUST CLEAN UP THE PLACE!! Why can't you you throw your old papers away? Ooops ... forgot ... you like to sleep half the day! Why do I bother? And why do I try?? Couldn't they give you to some other guy? Where's my raise? Do you think I write for free? WHO DO YOU THINK GIVES YOU YOUR POETRY?? If not for me, you couldn't write a word! To think you're a Poet ... why, that's absurd!!!! Three days. THREE DAYS or I am outta here. Am I making myself perfectly clear???
Ah yes, my muse can be this kind of task master sometimes, too. A bit schizophrenic, I'd say, as at other times she purrs and trills like a soft kitten, belly up.
... Oh dear... seems like even Muses get out of bed on the wrong side sometimes, then! :)) But, at least s/he must be very pleased with your efforts to "capture the moment in metre and rhyme" as per the brief, Karla! 10 out of 10 for effort and panache!... I hope you can hear - do I make myself clear?! This dialogue could run and run... it would be fun! :)) LOL Kate xx
Sistah girl, if we'd all admit it, we writers are the ones who keep the pen companies afloat. Always losing mine (smile). But you know what's great about this one? The ability to step outside of yourself and hover over your thoughts as your write them from a "self-to-other self" perspective. That's as best as I can explain it but you did, in my opinion, exactly that.
By the way, most of us are so busy creating that we don't find the inspiration to pick up the clutter next to and around our desks. Ain't no shame in your writin' game, so WRITE ON!
