Too right, Karla... "she who must be obeyed", eh, like it or lump it! Beautiful though, ain't she? And I love her in her stunning all-bright summmer radiance, rather than her wintry slothfulness, like an old hag with a hangover! This is an acute and very clever anthropomorphism (is it? Not sure, but sounds good! :)) She has the age-old torture trick - bright light in the eyes. Shame some of us are allergic... Love this clever ray of sunshine! Woke me up! LOL Kate xx

Try living where the midnight sun is! Ahhhhhhhhh She has trouble sleeping at all!
Sometimes the art of living and having to perform for the meager wage we usually receive is enough to make a person pull the covers over their head and just say, the hell with it. But then reality cimes creeping about and the covers are flug off and the routine begins all over. But, as they say, the alternative is not all that great either. Good poem.
A naïve councilman and a down-on-her-luck single mom try to save their county’s last stand of forest from greedy developers and a dysfunctional government.
