GAD it's hot. Kate Clifford, WHERE are those Northern Lights?? LOL

Poem Artwork

Hot.
The sun lasers heat into
a concentrated beam of
uncomfortableness -
hundred degree temperatures
combined with the moisture
streaming northward from the Gulf,
makes for a deadly situation.
Hot.
The words have melted
into a puddled mess of Poet
laying on the sidewalk,
praying for relief that doesn't come -
the gods gather overhead,
laughing at her predicament,
giggling in distant thunderclaps.
Hot.
The meter and rhyme coalgulates
into a gelatinous glue that stifles
the creativity of the Poet,
who whines at the sizzling blue skies,
complaining about sweaty armpits
and wondering why her Secret
is shouting hers with humid breath.
HOT!

That's right! Blame it on us down here on the gulf. Just kidding. Yip, it is hot. Summertime, you know, and the living is lazy, so hush little baby . . . I have to admit that the heat seems hotter than the last few years. So! Write us something CHILLING, huh?
