Danged buggers.

The morning, hushed; red with
the promise of more heat
to come; the birds sing one
last melody before
the heat squashes their tune;
the only things in flight,
squadrons of mosquitoes
cussing DEETed flesh; there
goes target practice.  The
sky, clear as the truth; no
clouds would dare leave scars; a
breeze tickles the leaves and
barely kisses skin with
relief; doors closed, window
shades drawn against summer
as I walk by; better
now than later, when the
press of humidity
sucks life out of lungs of
all living things, except
mosquitoes.  Y'all don't know.

Cute! Mosquitoes....why are they here, what is their purpose,
swoop down like sneaky bombers to annoy us!
Great write!

Be safe,

Oh those flying Draculas, pestering our peaceful summer evenings, though, the American variant are midged by the albatross size of their Vietnam cousins, if you did slapped one it slapped back at you.

Hate the little disease filled buggers, but you have quite effectively immortalized them in this delightful write dear Karla. Again you wax poetic and do so with a fine panache.

I've yet to hear someone say "I love mosquitos" lolol. They are a nuisance, especially if one gets in the house. It will usually find me when I'm trying to sleep- I can hear it, but I can't see it to swat it. Darn pests!

Best be very careful around them danged old skeeters these days, Karla. When we were kids, they were just a nuisance. Now, they carry deadly diseases like West Nile Virus for humans, and Heartworm for our little critter friends.
