Feeeeeling it today. LOL

... at that age when the body
is a bother and one looks
forward to the day without
the aches and pains that become

routine on awakening.
O, to have just one  morning
without joints that thunder, to
not have to lubricate the

back with smelly stuff that comes
into the room a half hour
before you enter, to not
have to groan your way into

motion:  such bliss.  Arthritis
set in, hardened like cement:
the olding has come upon
me:  aging gracefully?  NOT!!

Karla, I can so relate to this piece and today I am certainly feeling it. I smile through this arthritic pain that tries so desperately to dominate my life these days. Hey, perhaps we could join forces against these terrible aches and pains that announce aging; very well said, my dear. I agree with you Tinka...aging sucks.

Aging sucks..but gee I am happy to be a granny AT LAST!!

With the cold weather here my old bones know what the meaning of hurt is...specially after my bad fall down stairs!!

I have pains at places I did not even know exist!!

Love Tinka

Grunts and groans become more common as we grow older but try to keep smiling. The rest of the world will wonder what you're up to.

The age of time catches us all, if only we could escape the aches and pains and live out this life free of it's reality...

You touch my heart with this write dear Karla. Aging is a challenge - in and of itself - to be sure. But when we are chosen to age with pain and suffering, we begin to view life and those around us in an entirely different light. I really admire how you share these kinds of struggles with your readers. No one is immune to suffering. Blessings dear heart ...

Oh Karla I know where you are coming from but I have excepted it as part of my day and most of my nights, and I refuse to give in to it for I have found that the worst thing I can do for it is nothing, so keep walking and stretching those joints and it will help not heal but help.
Thank you for your write.

Becoming older after certain age is a question of rutine, you get older and don't give a darn.
Having age pains are like playing Scrabble, you don't which ailment until you pull that first letter in the morning.
Cheer up!!

I know the feeling, well a small part of it! I have just begun to feel the pains of old arthur...don't you just hate it when you walk up or down stairs and a kid says, "what's that noise?" I just reply..."What noise?" I do have some pretty severe pain in my elbow and wrists, I don't have to worry about the rain bringing pain on...not here in the sahara mountains...dry as cracker crumbs here! Prayers are with you my friend!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

No I think it is hard coping with the aging process especially when our minds refuse to keep up with our bodies.

I'm still sleeping on the floor at my not-so-new-house... it has been almost a year! 5 hours max is my limit, then a quick RUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNN to the shower to limber up what always feel like it has died and rigored in the night. And my hubby shares with you in the stinky linament stuff... But he ain't got the nose for it that I do, so he thinks that's fine!! :)) Wishing you wonderully soothing and warming stones to lie on to give you a bit of the heat treatment... with aromatherapy, too! Bless you, Karla. You always keep the soul and spirit supple and beautifully radiant with your humour and smile, though. Love, Kate xx

Ouch, you got me. The back has been good lately, but the left shoulder seems to have 50 pounds of iron shoved through the joint. I enjoyed the poem, I commiserate with the poem, but it hurts to laugh (I just turned 60 although I'm sure you thought I looked 35. I never did go bald though. As you can see from my picture, the hair just slid down my head.)...Jerry
