Injured it: with a click of the cursor, I froze it dead in its tracks. Tried to give it mouth to mouse resuscitation, no go - fear it's beyond hope, beyond the point of rescue. All it does is turn on, stuttering pulse knocking me offline. Once in a while, if vital signs are stable (somewhat), it will let me post at Author's Den (thank God!), but won't let me check my mail. Then, it crashes: all systems stop. Guess I'm going to have to hire an expert to see if he can bring my computer back to life ... bring it back from the dying. Leave it to me to muck things up. Can't leave well enough alone. All I wanted was an update. Now I'm back to the library's 1 hr. time.
Karla, I sympathize with you. Nothing is more annoying or frustrating than when my computer gets sick and won't cooperate with me. My free antivirus AVAST.com has fixed all my problems and I haven't had any crashes since I started using it. I'm amazed that something that works so wonderfully is FREE.
Get from SYMANTEC Norton Utilities 4.0, it let you to fix your system's problems, repair errors, defragment your hard-drive, put in turbe your PC speed and recover lost files. And, it is easy!!!

It sure seems like there is a "mice from hell" plague affecting the poor, innocent computers on both sides of the Atlantic, dear friend, LOL! Would you believe it, I almost disemboweled my laptop in frustration, after interminable weeks of suffering it "freezing" on me at every possible (and inconvenient) opportunity... until some "epiphany" occurred, a few days ago, that made me just disconnect the "mouse" and start using the touch pad exclusively! Well, oh magic, magic "touch" indeed... it never again "froze" ever since... and the "mouse", which I chucked, in rage and with a sinister smirk, into the trash, must now be about to reincarnate, recycled, as... a bed pan, LOL! So... courage, sweet Lady... rip the malevolent thing off its socket... and try the touch - it might just do the trick, like it did on my laptop (who knows... maybe computers also need some loving fondling once in a while, LOL!). With fervent wishes of a full and speedy recovery to your computer, here go lots and lots of love and huge {{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}} from the "mouse from hell exterminator"

I am so sorry to hear about your computer Karla, I just got a new laptop for my Bday and it is giving me great problems, I only got it on Sunday and I am just about ready to let the mouse eat it. Nice write and I hope you can get it fixed.
lol. I know what you are talking about. I used to crash my computer all the time. Thank goodness that they have become more user friendly. Hope you can get it resuscitated. We want you back on line. Liz

Computers!! And all the problems they can bring to a perfectly good day... hang in there, love holly
I'm just glad to read it was the computer type, and not the furry gray rodent type. Try hitting it with a hammer. That worked for me. It didn't help the mouse, but I felt better. Hope I didn't gross you too badly with the reply tornado description. Take care of you and the mouse both...Jerry
If it truly is your mouse do what Ron suggested. If that doesn't work, turn the mouse over, remove the plate, take the ball out and see if there's any lint in the mouse, or try a different mouse - maybe it "died." If it's your computer try a system defrag. Hope you don't have to take it to the doctor cause it is expensive. $75/hr and up.
Cute Karla. Once a week or so you need to give it a slice of cheese (defrag the stupid thing and then clean the disk). And like Ron said, unplug it and plug it back in; the mouse that is.

NOT good when the computer suffers a "Code: Blue"! Where's the portable defibrillator when you need one? Or that darned Ambu bag?? Great write; hope our computer woes are fixed soon; hope the patient can be brought back to life instead of languishing in a coma!
