Figures. The show's a runaway hit! LOL ... OW

Feet connected to shins connected
to knees of pain; thighbones and hips get
into the act.  No speaking lines, just
shouts of agony.  The sciatic
nerve top billed with fibromyalgia
for the starring role, with the spine a
bit player (but an important one),
each demanding to be heard over
the other.  (Typical divas.)  The
script was thrown together by demons
who ignored the writer's strike; music
a discordant symphony played with
skeletal bones for added effect ...
and my body, the unwilling stage.  LOL

I love this! I chose to read this because I once loved an actor in high school. He was my first love. As a result I still have a love for the theater. This love lost also had fibromylagia I found out years later. This is really fabulous.

Sorry I haven't commented on your work in awhile. Grad school kept me on a writing and commenting hiatus for the past four months.

Blessings!
Marie

I'm feeling this way myself this morning Karla. Shouldn't have tried clearing the a whole acre in one day. Ah well. Let that be a lesson to me. Well done my friend.

Excellent! No LOL, but a empathic smile...I like a poem with one extended metaphor, and this is super - there is wry humour (Typical Divas) and your resilience and bravery that comes through the 'body as a stage' idea - so many good lines, i liked the 'script thrown together by demons who ignored the writer's strike' especially - great poem Karla - Nicky xx

Karla - I've been to that play, too, where,

a discordant symphony played with
skeletal bones for added effect ...
and my body, the unwilling stage.

Perfect depiction of back pain. - David

Hard work. The writers strike is a disaster for them. They are so screwed. I feel terrible for them. I heard they want to put more shows online, like soaps. So aspiring actors get ready.
