I.

i hear my mom's yellin'..."c'mon, you'll be late!
you know damn well that the school bus comes at eight!!"

aww, man (mumble), i don't wanna get up now...
do i have to?? i don't like school, anyhow!!

"mom," i whine, "i'm sick, i'm fixin' to throw up!"
well, i thought i was...manage a (small) *hiccup*!

"can't i sleep in a few minutes more?"
i'll pretend i'm asleep...hear me snooorrrreeee,

"KARLA, get UP! don't you MAKE me come up there,
because i'll snatch you outta bed, BY YOUR HAIR!!!!"

(she'd do it, too. have the bald spot to prove it. okay, i'm exaggerating. a little.)

II.

my mom's yellin' again..."leave that cat aLONE!"
and i know that she means it, hearing *that* tone...

just wanted to see if i could make her jump,
she was asleep (wish i was)...made a loud "thump!!"

and there she was, with her head on upside-down,
(you know how cats sleep) and then there's me, the clown,

her eyes got big, her fur frizzed, her tail furred out,
was laughin' 'til my mom gave my head a clout,

"how would you like someone to do that to you?
go to your room 'til i decide what to do!!"

(i was bored, okay?? it's not like i hurt the cat or anything!!)

III.

my mom's yellin..."why did you tell me that lie??
you know that liars go to hell when they die!"

all i did was tell mom i was at a friend's,
she was at camp...i knew this, i would pretend!

a street fair down the road: couldn't stay away,
rode rides, then at dark, rode my bike home, okay...

but mom isn't home! yessss!! i'd pulled off the scheme!!!
and when mom came in, she was pissed, she was steamed!!

"your friend's at camp, besides, i saw you ride home,"
awww, man, grounded for weeks from play and the phone!!!!

(i learned my lesson about lying that day. i still exaggerate, though! >grin<)
