... My twin sis screams, 'What are you doing?!?' ....
Image (c) 2005, Karla Dorman
... hear the wind picking up. A mutter of thunder. Look
out of the apartment, what do I see? A madswirl of
gathering forces, pointing into a funnel --- oh,
dang. So do I do what smart people do, head
for shelter? Nope --- grab the camera. My
twin sis screams, "What are you doing?!?"
as I take the last two images of what
may be my undoing. She yells, "Get.
In. This. House. Right. NOW!!"
Me: "Just one more picture!"
She is f u r i o u s; wanting
to wrap crutches around
my neck. But I get the
pictures I wanted:
see, it's like this
--- you can take
the girl out of
the chaser
but not
the
chaser out of the girl. Have to face my fear sometime ...

You shall be the chaser...and Karen the protector!
for the want of that perfect photographic rendering -- we need not lose Karla -- StormSpinner lady your work is great, but learn to leave before it is too late -- JMW
I don't know Karla about this one. I agree with your sister. Better
to take cover and live another day. Life has enough fears in it. In
the eye of the tiger you look like a smokin' hot steak.

Very nice idea, the shape, the picture, the content -
And a very realistic scene that is all about facing one's fear,
looking them straight in the eye... of the storm.
Just one suggestion: how about keeping the present tense
- like something happening right here, right now -
throughout the narration?
You really conveyed the experience. I'm with your sister, Karen though; what the hell were you thinking?! LOL...I like the way you funneled the poem down too. Very cool. ~ Sara
You are a real character, Karla. I love this, and I love your amazing creativity. Every day I look to see what you've added, and I'm disappointed if nothing is there.
Love it and although you take the risks if it is something you truly love than you must do it. Hope you are planning to rouse up some really wild thunder and lighting for the Halloween Bash at my place.

You stay put... the sight of this is even freaky. Looks like a killer to me Karla...head for cover it this is comin your way and take that twin with you. Love, Bonnie
WOW Karla this is great but I can assure you I would have been running to safety. You are likhat song,"A Girls gotta do what a girls gotta do" Thank you for sharing and that is a great photo.
Creatively told in a design that grabs your readers, Karla...I find it refreshing that you always find new ways to put a spin on a topic you are adamant about and your presentation is embedded into our own minds about how the weather affects each and every one of us...Kenny Loggins Top Gun theme song Danger Zone comes to mind here...be well you and Karen Lynn...
This is cleverly presented, penned, and illustrated! Boy, do I remember *THAT* one! I was not a happy kitty, trust me! LOL Mrowww, HISS!! LOLOLOL Very well done; brava!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your hissy twin sister, Karen Lynn. :)

Be always safe,
Karen
but the wind couldn't catch her.
It was she who caught the wind.
And she wound up its dare--
its cold, demonic glare,
and she tossed it back home again. Yes.
She chucked it back home again.

I love the structure of your poem. Though I think chasing storms is foolish so is following rainbows. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.
