... shaking my head in laughter:
only in Texas can you have all
four seasons in a week. Today,
Winter has its chilly grip around
my neck. Beginning tomorrow,
Spring makes a return before
early Summer takes over. By
Thanksgiving Day, could have
severe storms prior to Winter
reestablishing itself with even
colder temperatures ... why
can't we ever have "normal"?!?
If summer returns for Thanksgiving I am going to barbeque that bird outside, forget the oven! This weather has been so crazy, heat, fans or air conditioning, I am getting so confused...
unusual weather has many asking the same question -- in many parts of the country -- I think mother nature has always been a little fickle -- don't you? -- but your poetry is quite normal, for you -- normal in that it is always very creative -- peace and love to you Karla --JMW
I'm from New Hampshire where this is normal, lol! (Don't get storms like ya'll get, though.) They say: If you don't like the New Hampshire weather...just wait a minute. Love and Hugs,
Sheila
I love Georg's def of normal. I had to laugh. Here we say there are just two seasons: winter, and July. But this year, we had fall--still having for the first time in I don't know how many years. It's been nice to watch the leaves change colors for a change. Still, it's nice here. --Charlie
Some people never experience more than two seasons... hot and freezing... you my dear can have them all...and not all year long; but in one single week... that's why Texas is a "whole 'nother country!"...hehe... good writing .........lindalaw
Sadly, it isn't only in Texas...here in Montana this week we had 50 degree weather on Monday (spring), almost 70 degree weather on Tuesday (summer), and snow flurries and below freezing on Wednesday (winter). Today is more of a normal fall day with wind and temperatures in the 40's...
Crazy!

Your Texas "normal" might take me, some gettin' used to! lol! But it might not be as bad as a long severe winter of 20 degrees below, like my friends endure each winter in Ontario, Canada. That's "normal" for them, so they tell me. lol! I think an explaination of "normal" is -- what one expects! Nice write Karla. Stay warm and healthy!

Ha! Karla, you cannot use "normal" and "Texas" in the same sentence. I mean, we have the only state where a State Animal (armadillo) is most often seen as road-kill. We have the only state where a popular sport (skiing) is not available anywhere in the state (yet major world ski slopes, ranging from Colorado to the Alps brag about people coming down their slopes wearing Stetsons (huge silver belt buckles, too) and yelling "Eeeeeeeeeeeeee Hawwwwwwwwwww!!!!" Texas is unique, and so are its people, and "normal" does not apply to us.
Ahhh but normal to one is abnormal to another the same as some love the heat and others hate it. As I sit here in Nova Scotia with snow on the ground and a major snowstorm forecast tonight I love the snow but tomorrow night? Who knows...I'm not normal. lol

NORMAL = a screwed up notion about getting what you expect, want, wish, dream, beg for...

I think you should thank your lucky stars - I gotta wait at least 5 or 6 months before I get a whiff of Spring again!
