... my heart races along with
the clouds, beating as fast as
the wind rocking the vehicles.
Adrenaline sizzles nerves like
lightning; tension thunders as
loudly as Reed is screaming,
"Back UP!!!!" The finale of
Storm Chasers on Discovery:
way too intense. Couldn't do
it. Why I watch on TV and
chase off the front porch: it's
safer and close to shelter. =]
Porch life, a cooler with Coors and a dog for company and to tell when an uninvited one are coming too near.
Chasing storms? no need, they are chasing after me! ! !
Yes- this is so true! Storms get nastier the closer they come in.
The sounds of fury and the rage of winds are enough to back up any chaser. Great intensity here.(Whew!)
Karla,
There's no substitute for the real first-hand experience, everything else is received and milder, but having said that I have to agree with Jon W that discretion matters, too. I enjoyed this point of view very much and the fine expression.

it's true that "discretion is the better part of valor", Karla -- stay safe, stay smart, chase from shelter and security -- peace and love to you my friend -- JMW
living on the edge........of the sofa is safer and more fun!! and with tv you get to know what you are missing besides the obvious...my hats off to you arm chair weather girl! lol pax A
Karla, I like the way you spin your storms from the front porch.
Me, I run the other way. Trouble is, sometimes they change direction
and come at you head on, as happened too many times trying to escape those Pacific typhoons in WW2. -gene.

Living in storm country like you do, I imagine it's quite a relief to know it's only television this time! Wonderfully written. Take care.
