Susan Boyle's video is a lesson for the entire world. Her letter to me broke my heart, especially, " ...it means a lot to be shown some respect as a human being at last, be it only because of my singing." It shouldn't be this way.

You're so right. I couldn't believe the way the audience and judges were reacting to her initially. She was so perky before she began singing. I just don't get why they didn't like her for that cheeky perkiness. I laughed at her response to someone's mock whistle. That playful side of her speaks volumes in my book. Love and Hugs,

Too true, and everyone is so programmed, it's hard not to make these pre-judgments, especially in a world where beauty Queens it, whether talented or not.
Excellent writing Karla! Humanity will never learn ,because we never get to the core of why so many think as they do.Right now all our institutes of higher learning, have shunned God! What is anyone doing about it? Nothing! A godless society will only get worse. Soon a spirit of meaness will fill the place in us that was meant for God's spirit. If we don't reverse the course ,you know where that leads us,and it's not heaven...

Yes they definately were suprised when she belted out that beautiful voice. Exactly never judge a book by its' cover, however we both know that is exactly what people do. We never know anyone until given the chance and the same as we never know what they have been through to have walked in their shoes.
Luckily God loves us for who we are and not what someone else wants us to be.

"Yes," I sadly responded, "I do."
Perhaps it would be better to 'give everyone a clean slate' and withhold judgment period. In time, we they are better known and they know us better, one is apt to be less judgmental.
Wouldn't it have been AWFUL if Christ had chosen TO PASS JUDGMENT on us THEN rather than to have died for our sins?
We should pray for one another to be blind to differences and open to the aura of knowing another human being.

I am sick and tired of people making assumptions: just because one is handicapped doesn't mean that they are any less of a person! Good for Susan Boyle; I think she proved 'em wrong: just because she doesn't "fit the mold", people assumed that she was just mediocre at best. When she opened her mouth, however--Oh. My. GAWD!! WOW!! Amazing isn't the WORD!! She is a star in my eyes!! Very timely and needed message delivered with a knockout punch! VERY well done, Karla; one of your best!! BRAVA!! *clapping*

Damn, girl, but she was wonderful...I feel really badly right now, as I did the same thing that the audience did, I doubted her ability, but when she sang, I cried, really, she was that beautiful...

While Debtors prisons no longer exist, many people continue to be persecuted for crimes related to poverty or inability to repay money owed to municipalities. This practice remains in an injustice that needs to be rectified.
