wedding night bloopers

it was the night i had been looking forward to,
when mrs. karla dorman would make her debut,
when my new husband and i would share our first kiss,
this was supposed to be a night of wedded bliss.

it didn't turn out exactly like i had expected...

early that morning, i was a bundle of nerves,
my back giving me problems i didn't deserve,
i took a muscle relaxant, to ease the pain,
pretty soon, i was feeling much better again.

went to the chapel, i was gonna get married,
it seemed my husband was late...he always tarried,
thinking dark thoughts...i was ready to kill the groom,
he'd better get to the church on time...or face doom!

my mother finally said that he had arrived,
i thought he'd gotten in a wreck, hadn't survived,
(what else was i supposed to think?? i'm new at this!!)
and hoped nothing else would go wrong or go amiss.

finally, finally! the big moment was here!
i was walked down the aisle by my daddy dear,
i looked at the man i was fixin' to marry,
my husband, the cutest in the sanctuary!

the preacher then prounounced that we were man and wife,
and this was the beginning of our wedded life,
limped up the aisle, husband, his wife on a crutch,
decorated with ribbons and bows--my mom's touch.

the wedding reception went off without a hitch,
we danced together, husband and wife were bewitched,
everyone got along, they all enjoyed themselves,
and we left for the hotel...to be by ourselves.

that's when everything kinda went wrong...

get into our suite...and our evening then begins,
husband takes a shower...orders room service in,
i take a shower, then drink a glass of champagne,
it doesn't mix with what i had taken for pain!!

i lay down on the bed...that was all that she wrote,
and soon, it was off to dreamland i began to float,
don't know how long it was before i came awake,
slept all night...almost more than my husband could take!!

when i awakened, he was watching the t.v.,
just staring at the channels...he then looked at me,
i broke down crying, said i'd ruined everything,
he said, "don't rush...we have time...i gave you my ring!"

he was a good sport about it, said he understood,
(but deep inside me, i know i'd spoiled the mood),
consummated the marriage the very next night,
'cause the evening before didn't turn out just right!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

maybe that's why we're divorced now...if this was an indication of things to be...the beginning of the end...

this really did happen to me!!

(dreamweaver, thanks for the inspiration!!)

Such a melancholy memory, Karla. I wish I could say something to take away the hurt. But I guess that's what twinks are for, yes?

karla, i remember..poor dear. i will never forget daddy limping down the aisle as he gave you away, saying "Charlie Company" and the look of pure evil you shot him, or the crutches festooned with flowers and ribbons. i will always remember, and remember..bryan was stupid for treating you the way he did, and you deserved better!! my heart goes out to you, sweetie!! love, and ((gentle hugs)), your twin, karen lynn.

The Wholly Book of Genesis by Jay Dubya

The Wholly Book of Genesis is a humorous satire on the first book of the Old Testament where the Story of Creation, the building of Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are thoroughly spoofed and broadsided.
