last year, i wrote a poem about the heat we were having here in texas...i shouldn't have complained...because this year it's far worse! last year, we only had one day that reached 100 degrees (normal is fifteen). we've had thirteen 100 degree plus days this year, and the end is not in sight... me and my big mouth so here's last year's poem and this year's rant as a rebuttal--enjoy! stay cool ---------------------------------------------------------------- "i'm melting, melting" i'm melting... ...melting... feeling like an oven out there hardly a breeze stirring the air i'm melting... ...melting... dang--no clouds building in the sky why does it have to be so DRY??? i'm melting... ...melting... the sweat slowly runs down my face these temp'ratures are a disgrace i'm melting... ...melting... the a/c unit then breaks down this * really * causes me to frown i'm melting... ...melting... a killer way to lose some weight i'll lose fifty pounds at this rate i'm melting... ...melting... nasty sweat stains are on my clothes hope i don't sink * PHEW * hold yer nose! i'm melting... ...melting... i'm not really an ugly witch just the heat causes me to bitch i'm melting... ...melting... i'd KILL for some cooling relief 'cause the heat is giving me grief!!! i'm melting... ...melting... ...meelllttttiiiiinnnnnnggggggg... (c) karla dorman, 2002 ---------------------------------------------------------------- "i've melted...melted..." a molten puddle of sweaty misery the temp'rature rises another degree i've melted... ...melted... moisture in the air just makes it that much worse i'm in the hottest place in the universe i've melted... ...melted... weathermen say that there's no relief in sight can't sleep--it's eighty degrees, even at night i've melted... ...melted... need rain--there's been none since the middle of june it's been up north...they're singing a diff'rent tune i've melted... melted... the a/c overheats, and then it breaks down not just here, it's happening all over town i've melted... ...melted... we all stay in, because it's too hot outside in air conditioned places, we try to hide i've melted... ...melted... you know it's bad when you start wishing for snow and you never think cooling relief will show i've melted... ...melted... i am * more * than ready for fall to begin you'll never hear me complain 'bout heat again!!!! i've melted... ...melted... meellltttteeeeedddddd... We are all melting here in the UK too, we are HAVING A HEATWAVE - WOW - just a couple of days ago we had winter, now it's in the 80's but it might as well be 120 cos we haven't had a chance to get used to it!! Winter will probably be back again by the weekend! Jackie <> <

We hit 103 here in Texas City yesterday. Heat index of 119 and worse scheduled for today through what looks now to be two weekends from now. I miss snow!!
