Aurora, Keeper of the Northern Lights!
Aurora, who chases away the Night!
Aurora is this is this little Angel's Name!
Aurora is Keeper of the Night Flames!

This is her story, how she came to be,
Let's go back in time, back in history,
A mother in a poor village gave birth,
To the tiniest of babies on Earth.

It was Winter, t'was the coldest one yet,
Every day, brand new records were set,
The babe was born, covered in ice and snow,
The temperature that night?  Fifty below.

Her Mother did not think she'd last the night,
Heartbroken, she did what she thought was right,
She tried to keep the babe warm in her arms,
She vowed she would protect the babe from harm.

The baby was cold, and not breathing well
Mother prayed to the Angels, where They dwell
"My baby is so small, fragile and frail,
Please don't take her from me!," her Mother wailed.

"I've waited to have children a long time,
You cannot have her!  I love her, she's mine!
I have obeyed God, and this isn't fair!
Taking her--is this how God answers prayer?"

"Peace be unto you," the Archangel said,
"Fear not, the Lord has heard your prayers of dread,
It is too cold for the baby to live,
If you give her to Him, see what He'll give."

The mother, sad, said, "Yes, Lord, I obey,"
The Angel said, "What faith I see today!
Do not grieve:  you gave the Lord all you had,
Rejoice!  Rejoice!  The Lord will make you glad!"

"What do you mean?" the mother asked, in tears,
"I'll never see her, the rest of my years,"
"She lives with God, look up in the night sky!
She lives with Him now, and will never die.

"God needs someone to keep the Northern Lights,
To make sure they'll burn brightly through the night.
She will be known as Keeper of the Flames,
Look up!  When you're lonely, you'll see her, again!"
