He knows when you're awake
HE KNOWS IF YOU'VE BEEN BAD OR GOOD
so be good for goodness' sake...
Dear Santa:
Mama say that you know EVERYTHING, Youre watchin everythin that I do, She says I need to write a letter... An confess my wrongdoins to you,
But if you read this letter, Im had! Therell be no more Christmases for me, Even if I live to be eighty... If you read this...I'll be history,
Mama says youre in cahoots with God, An that I need to confess my sins, Cause if I dont, I'll go down, down, down... An Id much rather go to Heavin,
Okay...where to start. I spilled my milk, An I kinda sassed Mama last week, I told Teacher I lost my homework... But Brother ruined it, little creep,
I accidently broke Pas glassis, Thew a baseball--it hit the winder, Fergot to take the frog out my pants... An Mamas heart went all a-flinder,
Let Rufuz out an he chased the cat, But the cat turned out to be a skunk, Washed the clothes in too hot of water... An they don't fit now--they kinda shrunk,
I didn't do my chores yesterday, Cause Billy and I was a-playin, An Brother and I got inna fight... An twas MY butt that got the whalin,
Cut my hand an I said a swear word, An Mama washed my mouth out with soap, Brother snitched--got in trouble AGAIN... Cause I tied Brother up with a rope,
But Brother is gettin on my nerves! Cause hes little, gets away with it! But WHOS the one that gits in trouble? ME--an I don't like it one dang bit!
Please dont be mad at me, Santa Claus, But Im really tryin to be good, It just dont always turn out that way... I just wish that Mama understood,
Anyway, that's my letter, Santa, Thanks fer listenin...I gotta go, Im really sorry that Ive been bad... I just thought that you would like to know,
Im not expectin nuthin this year, Maybe next time I will do better, But Im just doin what Mama asked... An Im done writin this here letter.

Beeeeeeuuuuuuuuutiful! Karla, this is such a delight! Wish I'd seen it at Christmas so I could read it to my children.
It made me return to my early days and come back to learn from it again. "He Knows...He ALWAYS Knows!" is an inspiring teaching cute poem that I have enjoyed.
