One time, a sudden hailstorm developed over the town I was living in (Ontario, Ohio). I turned on my weather radio, to see how bad things were going to get. No mention of hail, they were reporting clear conditions!
I called them to tell them of the hailstorm, and they told me I was nuts, it was perfectly sunny out!
I told them to have a looksee out the window, and was informed that they didn't HAVE a window in the forecast office!!
Needless to say, the forecast was revised to include a "slight" chance of hail. :-)
