Flaming screams and crimson tears
Exploding air with prayers unanswered.
Where is God to be found in this madness?

Where is the God of Abraham’s children?

This legacy of blood.
And bombs.
And lies.
And ancestral land soaked in

Blood.

Streaming in the streets where
The footsteps of children fade.
Cobblestones weeping scarlet.
Corpses in praying mantis pose.
Silent supplications to the
Lords of death and war
Pouring scorching hatred from the skies.

Where is your God when you call to him?
Throats parched and torn.
Smoked and frayed as ancient papyrus.
Perhaps He can’t hear
Over the tearing of flesh .
The roar and hiss of spitting fires.

Israel where is your mercy?
Does your Torah instruct you to terrorize?
Take the communion of lives.
Pass them over with Death.
Ignore the cries for compassion.

Poisonous plumes cloud the land
Rising from the roasted flesh of
Babies cradled to burnt breasts.
Fathers and sons unable to flee
From the wailing of their wives and mothers.

Hear the hymns of Pharisees
In the flame dancing winds.
Homes. Burning.
Hospitals. Burning.
Mosques. burning.
Land. Burning.
People. Burning.
Wheels of fire
Whirring over their heads.

Do you pray for their destruction fervently
Before your toppled alters?
Rent veils flapping where Christ left them.
Sacrificial blood on the stones.

Land that is not your own.
Land that is not your own.

Where is your God while Gaza bleeds and burns?
People of Palestine call on God by a different name
That foreign tongues fear at hearing:
Allah u Akbar!
Still the same Deity that Christians claims to worship
Yet where is your charity?

The same charity that abandoned the American people
After the baptismal of Katrina.
Can’t seize the moment overseas
To stretch your hearts through the fury
Blazing in Palestine.

Watching and waiting for the peace that never comes.
The Sun sets in the West
Leaving a bonfire in the East.
No cease fire for Palestine.

Where is the God in this?
Where is the God in this?
Where is the God of Abraham’s children?

The sky is falling.
The bombs are falling.
The bodies are falling.

Blood is raining.

The fires keep RAGING.

Oh Palestine, where is your God?
