Because the written word is single dimension, it is easy to be missunderstood..
Whilst reading this I kept thinking what kind of a brain does this man have, to take what is an impossible subject, yet achieve such a clever profound write.
In the computer era there is an added element. cyber-understanding as opposed to "real" understanding...if we are misunderstand in the real world imagine how much more so in cyber-relationships. Communication at best in our fast paced culture is lacking in many ways, how much more so,in the instant scan and shorthand methods of email etc. diversity is a must for growth as vision is for understanding. Just an observation on my part regarding your superb analytical poetic treatise on the need for understanding what is or is not needed in some situations...brilliant work Jude

This is eloquent and profound stuff, Robert.
Chock full of memorable quotable lines:
Being understood is truly a blessing, and I also believe diversity is a great blessing - if we only allow it to be. How truly boring if every living soul on earth were exactly the same.
This seems to me to be two poems in one, with the turn coming at line 17 - that's where the energy takes off for me! All of those lines and couplets are brilliant and power-packed summations. Love the idea that diversity "has no equal For it lives in mutual totality... Diversity is the dynamism to live in difference". Excellent! We shape-shift to sift and search - not to fall into line with the preconceptions, thoughts and opinions of others. Being misunderstood is therefore pretty much par for the course - so, indeed being understood is very much a blessing not to be taken for granted! "Dare to be different" - the voice of unfettered creativity: a vous cette voix, Monsieur - comprenez?! (Terrible accent!) Bravo, Kate xx
Being understood is always subjective, in that, it is difficult if not impossible, for another person not to put their own spin on things. We all move from our individual emotional centers and our emotions will always have an effect on the way we "understand" how another lives, thinks and on the emotions they possess. This is a very poignant piece, Robert. Nice writing!
