Attempting to address the substance of your convictions

Seeking permission to enter the room
Where concealed emotions
Fueled the furnace of your dreams

Cautiously I began to whisper
Through transparent walls
The intent of my concern

I did so with the deepest discretion

In time, you rescinded your pretenses
And acknowledged the vainness of being too edgy and over-sensitive

Surfacing from the depths of loneliness
Inhaling the breath of a new dawn

I was rewarded by being allowed to see
The light reflecting from your eyes

And to experience legitimacy
