Dawn of Night
As the dawn of twilight
Eases its way through
The darkening skies,
With her wonderful hues
Of blues and reds, to
Mix with purples and pinks,
The sun sets slowly in the West.
One can hear the call of
An owl, in the distance, as it
Takes flight from its tree top perch,
As it spies a field mouse that
Romps through the open meadow
Full of swaying green. Dew glistens
As the moon shines down, giving
The illusion of a dark green sea.
Unsuspecting of anything, the owl
Swoops in for its prey, the mouse
Is gone, a tasty morsel of a meal.
Thus, signaling the dawn of night
Hath come, swiftly.
