It is silent, just before dawn,
as the dew begins to form
on the petals of flowers and
the blades of grass.

The stars begin to slowly wink
out, one by one, as the sun
prepares for her grand entrance
in the east.

No cricket sounds …
No frog sings …

It is the changing of the guard.

The song birds find their place,
and then it happens.

That soft, warm glow in the east
as dawn slowly approaches. The
birds ease into a cheerful melody
to birth this new day.
