Rest awhile longer
don’t be alarmed
that’s not a rap, on the front
door
rest awhile longer
tis the popping of the
burning logs
don’t be alarmed
tis is not the firing of a
gun

That is only the fire
stirring
rest in the waves of warming
peace

Close your eyes in soothing
grace
rest and leave the world at bay
for this moment
it can wait
rest a while
longer

YOUR heart is so alive with LOVE!
YOu care so deeply and it shows through your words Stan!
Love the way you wrote this poem OUT
as the burning logs spit and shout
as you kept quiteness about.

This piece reminds me of my son in law returning from Iraq... we stepped very lightly around him for quite some time.. nice work!

I can relate so well. Imagining a knock on the door. A sounds from a long ago, never to be forgotten past. Dreaming of the thunk of a mortar tube popping has put me on the floor. Then I feel so foolish.

egads. .. if only i could. ..
seems like the most inviting soothing, graceful thing right now. .

but enough from the personal standpoint; this is so inviting to those without. ..and those fighting from without and even mroeso from within themselves. ..a call for REAL surrender, to the epace within that is made of light and grace .. .

such a beautiful, really beautiful write. ..

resonates~
