Calling all girl birds!
What's more,... so she said, you call all your birds?
Furthermore,.. do you feel they all wear skirts?
I was perplexed at such inquiry, puzzled at her, I looked,
Had I, with her an appointment booked,
Her husband stood aside her, unduly nervous, sort of shy,
However, steadfast and focused on me was her eye,
Never thought of it this way I said,
I guess I wouldn’t, if they were wearing trousers instead,
Quizzically again, and with a smirk, head tilted, sort of inquisitive,
She took another initiative,
Seriously, she said; why don't you call them boy’s names instead?
What be your reason? I know they’re girls, I said,
Well, they talk a lot, and they come when I call their name,
Furthermore, they’re coy like a dame,
She would not relent, but really have you got a good reason,
I would really like to know I’m not teasing,
Heavenward I looked, then lowered my eyes,
I really can’t tell you I’m not that wise,
However, I’ suppose, they’re sweet and tender,
Have tiny feet, and are so slender,
Her husband now fussing with the door of the car,
A smirk on his face he held it ajar,
Come dear he says, it’s getting late,
He pushed on her arm to encourage her gate,
Come on dear, as he started the car,
Again holding the door just slightly ajar,
She kept on yapping without catching air,
He was distressed, but she didn’t care,
I tell you what looking up to the sky,
I’ll prove it to without a lie,
Boys don’t respond, when I call their names,
Hence I yelled, Tom, and Harry and James,
There were no response, no flutter or beep,
However, now, reached into my pockets far deep,
Now treats in my hand, and all that food,
Peggy and Jasmin I yelled it were such hoot,
Furthermore, and sudden the twitter got nearer my hand,
Furthermore, and to my joy, that’s where they did land,
You see I said, that’s Peggy, and Angel and Ruth,
I wasn’t lying I told you the truth.
She was perplexed or chagrined, or so it would seem,
Her face turned too red, and then with laughter, she’d beam,
You are some rascal she said,
For a moment you had me, and then drove off instead.
One last stare, as they now departed,
Love the people that so openhearted,
Do care so much, and, about nature do give a hoot,
As they drove off, with a last toot.
Be always safe,
Karen
By the why who was that yappy one in the car?
Boy, you are an unlucky dude!
