The high and low of it.

If there's no writing tomorrow, you'll know I'll be hiding in sorrow ha

The high and low of it.

She, the queen bee, upstairs lives, she,
Down in the dungeon, is where you'll find me,
We’re friends of sorts,
However, mostly great sports,

Now and then when the time is right,
We feast together by candlelight,
True lovers we are not,
However, we make do with what we got,

Both of us snore, I in low d, her in high c,
There are many things about her, and me,
For the love of me will not tell,
She’d get irate and start to yell,

Many things we do share, but we are different,
She’ll kick the dog that I’ll defend,
She can be mean and fight,
I, don’t like all them screaming words and hide,

Pigheaded she is, that is for sure,
For that my friends, have not found yet a cure,
Sometimes, believe it or not she can be so sweet,
Not often I see it, but then it’s a treat,

Now and then, she’s full of love, but when?
Only when practicing zzzzzzen,
I tell you time wasn’t thrifty,
For forty and eight years, we are married, mostly fifty,

Five we’ve raised, both sexes, all healthy brats, and strong,
However, they all come home, they know they belong,
Some of them mine, some of them hers,
Too much fooling around, it can be a curse,

Just a wee bit of fun we had,
She had a girl, I had a lad,
Together all, that weren't bad,
Most of our nights and days were glad,

Free thinkers we are for sure,
Not constraint did we endure,
We made the best of what there was,
I got the flowers, and she got the vase,

Much good will and compromise,
A bit of common sense we used, and many lies,
Moreover, as you can see, all lasting well right until now,
When things get rough, we have a pow wow,

My God it wasn’t always thus,
Having some choice is sure a big plus,
If she’s mad she, slams the door,
That let’s me know, that she is sore,

It won’t be long, and soon loneliness sets in,
She asks me coyly, where have you been?
Just down in the dungeon my dear,
Don't worry my love, I’ll always be near.

Wow! Queen bees the world over must all be the same. Me and my mutts are often banished down to the dungeon - and the queen hates coming down into our howling wolf den. But we bring her gifts of Milk Bones quite often!

And Congrats on almost 50 years of bliss!
