An apologetic verse The dark side of beauty Have I expressed the worst? The depths of my soul Have I shown my pain? You who misunderstood Judge me harshly These tears that dry Upon the pages I write An apologetic verse The ink smeared & stained The journey of my life My Life, My Sorrow The truth lies bleeding Have I exposed my heart? An apologetic verse The depths of remorse Have I made a mistake? Trusting the muse The betrayal The light exposes me The dark envelopes me The depths of my soul Has it frightened you? You who have misunderstood The tears I weep are real The page is stained blood red Don�t judge me harshly � 2003 CJ Clark All Rights Reserved

Dale this is great - it soooo describes the last poem I posted to the Den... It lasted less than a day before I erased it because I simply um over-exposed myself so-to-speak!! This describes a line of tension in every poets expression, I think, because poetry bipasses conventional communication restraints to share something of one's soul.... and how much is too much???
A thought-provoking write, thank you!
