You always were like black and gray
Dark on darker
the sharp, crisp slice of intellect
this is the denouement, yes
this is the end, my friend
the day we rip each other apart
"I have to pretend you're a bastard
just for a little while, baboo.
I have to hate you or I'll die.
But don't forget I love you."
So maybe I'm just stuck here
in this dream with your name still on it
still imagining your pulse of a life
and it's union with mine
(still imagining)
such a sweet persuasion
my little jesus in black and gray
still offering communion
to a heart thats lost it's religion.
