THE HISTORY BEHIND THIS MYSTERY - According to recent and not so recent reports, there is an invisible mountain hiding itself somewhere in Wyoming. No one has ever seen it because it is crystal clear all the way through. The locals have reported seeing birds suddenly fall from the sky as if they had struck some unseen wall in the sky. Oddly enough, as it has been reported but never verified, the FAA has a "NO FLY ZONE" in one particular part of the state where this invisible mountain may be located.

Devil's Tower isn't so strange
For this one is even stranger
Few folks know where this one is at
Not even the local park ranger
You can't see a small part of it
For it is clear all the way through
Be careful where you choose to run
It could do some damage to you
The people 'round there they all know
It's a huge three miles at its base
'How can that possibly be?' you ask
Now I'll explain why that's the case
Like I said, it's clear through and through
At its base is a three mile ring
You can tell from the bones of dead birds
That died flying into the thing

Like the sliding glass window of my kitchen where birds routinely like to have a head-on collision. I know where the crystal mountain is. It's in LA and is called the Crystal Cathedral.
Devils Tower, on the other hand, is very interesting. I've been fortunate to be there and see its wondrous structure. There was a movie I recall––a Civil War movie––where one group I'm not sure if they were Union or Confederate, climbed Devils Tower from the inside and mounted a mighty cannon on top that was able to reach a railroad line destroying trains that passed. In the end, an assault was mounted, high explosives were put in the cavern, and the whole damn mountain was blown up. So much for myths and mountains.
Well, Paul, a crystal mountain? One that shows no atmospheric residue. Not saying it isn't true, but it is one of those think that word of mouth wouldn't and don't sell me.
