Deep, deep in the bowels of the sea, a rumble worked its way upward, widening into a frightful roar that would not be contained. Beneath Pacific waters in the peaceful Christmastide, an angry Earth split herself in two, spewing forth her long-held complaint. Into paradise retreats, pockets of poverty, crashed wall of waves, taking lives and livelihoods, causing permanent rupture.

This is the saddest of tragedy's, Dawn, and the extent of the devastation is only beginning to be realized. Nature is a force not to ever be contained by man; she is a most humbling mother. No rage that we could inflict upon our self or our fellow earth inhabitants comes close to what she can accomplish in a single whim. Well written.

the line

"...an angry/earth split herself in two, spewing forth/her long held/complaint..." was particularly powerful. was she complaining about mankind's treatment of her? one wonders...
