I can understand your feelings as you sit in the pew being on the 'receiving' end. I enjoyed Easter services yesterday myself, as I sit in my pew. God bless!

its interesting sitting back isnt it?
i dont know if ive ever been to an easter service that i havent been involved in. well that was until this friday...
ive recently started fulltime work and, with everything else going on in my world, i didnt have time to even offer to be a part of the service.
i sat on my seat and whispered to god... i asked him to steal my attention... to cause my mind to capture the greatness of good friday and the sacrifice he made because as i sat there listening to the gospel accounts of jesus crucifixion i couldnt help but think i knew it already...
there was an opportunity to take a candle and put it at the foot of the cross so i got out of my seat and went to do this. little did i realise that the lid of the baptismal pool was off and there was fake grass and white funeral lillies at the bottom of the pool... i looked down there and i gasped... my breath completely left me as i looked down into what seemed like Jesus' grave...
a most powerful attention grabbed moment.
i returned to my seat to recieve communion and thank god for answering my prayer and capturing my attention, bringing me back to the whole reason for my being at that service... to remember the death/sacrifice of christ for me...

i hope that you were able to recieve something from god in this new capacity you find yourself in =)
