The All Knowing Waitress

I don't like to be preditable. When a waitress thought she knew what I wanted to eat, I had to change things.

“The usual?” she smiled and asked of me
proud of her perfect waitress memory.

Predictable, I never wished to be
so I shook my head and said, “ number three.”

“But you always have a number four
and sit way up front right next to the door!”

“Surely, you must be playing with my mind!
you are always very thoughtful and kind.”

“Well, I would never want to bother you
so why not just give me a number two?”

The next time I entered into the place
she looked at me with a smile on her face.

She didn’t try to guess what I would choose
because if she did, she knew she would lose.

Predictability is a good thing, but when even the waitress knows your choice, well ... You have such a delightful wit. Glad to hear that you're exploring new avenues. lol

God bless you. Kathy

Larry,

That's the trouble with being so predictable. This happens to me all the time but I usually just go along with it to make the waitress feel good. I usually get better service and a warmer greeting. Peace and Blessings Always, Paul.

I love this...reminds me of some of the eating dives I go to. I am predictable though- next time I might try this idea.
