in the alter of our hearts, we stood
No one to object, no audience except God
we didn't need to rethink, we didn't need ink
it was saved on time's paper that no one can find nor tear
for wedding bands his arms formed his ring around me
and mine around him
our first dance, the music we made
our sickness, our health
our better, our worse
and then I died in his kiss and he died in mine
but even in death we did not part.
