photo - Osprey
taken in eastern Oregon near Baker City

Poem Artwork

concentrated she stares
into imagined gates
dimensions beyond
the galactic edge
alert, intense, awake
as Venus falls and
deconstructs

wings open wide
with a power glide
that takes her from
the earth to sky
sweet mystery
emptiness is a presence
of unknown

progression tests the water
excitement and its courage
reigns of regal power
did you build that nest
or was it kindly shared
you, majestic tapestry of life
tenderly you are embraced

Their nests look like fortresses. Amazing constructions! You capture the mystery and majesty of the Osprey well Debby. We have a nest similar on Lake Murray where I live. Egrets inhabit that one though.

very vivid picture of a bird I've not been around but somehow feel you have given me a glimpse.

They are certainly cool birds, we have them here. Once I watched one hover above the water and then dive coming up with his prize. I never knew any bird could hover except a hummingbird...until that time..How beautiful it was.

That incredible blue sky in the picture make one to wish for a pair of wings and rush up there!
The poem are giving us a nudge to do so.

What winged beauty in her freedom, a freedom that even man can relate to. Enjoyed

Such a lovely and proud creature, the Osprey. We saw them in southern Washington wilderness areas. Always impressive!
