Ten years ago this tragic night
A world turned upside town
The tears of a child-bride
Whose young life was torn down.
Driving on a crowded Phoenix highway
An assassin’s bullet hit the side of his head.
An innocent life was uselessly thrown away.
Her beloved husband soon would be dead.
It happened on a normal day, he kissed his
bride of four months, said, Hon, I love you
have to get going fast. Little did they know
that kiss would be their last.
She got the call late that night, her
husband had been shot. She got to
the hospital as fast as she could,
but they said he had lost too much blood.
She trembled and knew with dread,
Her beloved was gone, the Lord
had taken him, he was already dead
She cried and grieved and would not
be consoled, how sad to be a widow
at 20 years old.
