Darkening as they linger on
Billowing clouds appear high above
Forming an overhead shower for the land
I watch in fascinated expectation as

Heaven’s Relief

Such need for relief of drought
Gulf Coast winds bring moisture to the parched lands
With a rumble and a roar they approach
Filling lakes, revitalizing crops, soothing souls

*The Jozzonet is a Dutch form of poetry that contains an odd number of lines (as many as you want) with no rhyme, no word or syllable count.
The middle line of the poem functions as a "mirror" for lines above and below.

(Authors note: The second poem is "wishful thinking", as we are still in much need of rain - drought times).
